October

Highlights of October:

New York botanical garden. Isaac and his friend dressed up like pumpkins. Alexander dressed up like a dalmatian. It was totally fantastic. There was a reporter there from one of the New York news papers covering a story on the year's biggest pumpkin, and when she saw Alexander sitting by the pumpkin, came over and asked for our permission to take pictures of him and run them in the paper. He is a pretty cute little guy.

Boo at the Zoo--we went to the Bronx zoo where Isaac did a character study of the Sharks to prepare for his halloween costume, a shark. Here he is working on his shark teeth.

Ward Halloween party! Even Clifford and I wore, er, costumes. The night of Halloween we trick or treated around our building and over to the halloween street on 69. Most of the businesses also expect and have candy for the trick or treat'ers. It was fun.

The Oyster Festival: earlier in October we went with Cliff's brother and his friend to the Oyster Bay Oyster Festival. Yes indeed, we did eat lots of oysters. Isaac mostly wanted to ride the amusement park type rides. Alexander took a snack on daddy's hat on the train ride home. Did we mention he has 2 teeth--soon to have four?

Apple Picking! Isaac enjoyed picking the apples himself. It turned out to be a hot day! We were glad for sunblock and hats. Alex enjoyed dad's squeezes.

Other than these bigger outings, life has remained pretty much status quo. It has been getting dark a lot earlier and it is hard for me to get used to. Here we are, at the sandbox in the complete dark at about 6pm. Sigh.

Isaac loves riding his scooter everywhere, and treasures even evening he can have daddy read him stories.
