.September (and a day)

Alex is a healthy 5 month old this September. We kept wondering all month when a little tooth would sprout out. He spent a lot of time drooling and gnawing on things. We weren't disapointed. on October 1st, the day he turned 6 months, his little bottom right tooth popped out, and his bottom left tooth is visible but hasn't broken the surface.

Isaac is finding that Alex can be pretty fun (emphasis on the can). It's great when they find the same thing funny and are both laughing together as co-conspirators. Isaac tries to weave Alex into many of his little plots. As pictured--the box plot, where he spent the afternoon coloring the box, living in the box, running his cars through the box, closing the box and shining a flashlight around the box, and cutting windows in the box. Yep, as seen, Alex ended up in the box too.

Isaac started his pre-preschool class again on Tuesday and Thursdays. He dearly loves it. He came home announcing to us that things were his "important job." Mostly things he wanted to do but we had said no (handling knives, carrying breakable objects--including Alex).

Alex stretching out on the couch, legs up on the pillow, for a quick cat nap.
One evening we were eating crab legs for dinner. Isaac found this absloutely facinating. He got one of the pincer legs and was using it to pick up his bread, articoke, and other dinner objects. He even made up a crab sound that the pincer made. And in the end, he decided he liked king crab legs, if they were smothered in butter with a dash of lemon. Still working on articoke.
The big even was Isaac's 3rd Birthday party. Madeline and Isaac had a joint party on the first even though his birthday isn't for another couple weeks. There was everything a three year old could dream of: balloons, bubbles, blowers,...

monkey cupcakes,.....

presents from generous and classy friends,

a pinata with sugary and chocolately candy,

and winner medals following the hyper competitve games and races.

Oh Margo, your boys are so cute! Being mom to these little kids is incredible. It's a privilege to know these kids during this innocent, fun, happy, loving time of their lives. It's so sweet to be loved by them.
