Ulan Batar on 10,000 Togrog a day

We escaped from Red China and now we can look at our blog. Sorry some of the pictures are sideways, but we are glad everyone can see them! Thanks for all the fun comments.

We enjoyed the train ride to Ulan Batar (other than being herded off the train at the Chinese border in the middle of the night and forced to sit outside for 2 hours) it is a lot of fun to go by train, read, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

We have onward tickets to Irkutsk, Russia leaving this evening (the Motherland!).

The currency here is funny--the exchange rate today was 1,180 togrog to the dollar. After buying our train tickets we were left with about 14,000 togrog (someone else can do the math for $) and that has gotten us through the day!

Next post from Russia!
