Springtime travels

It is springtime in New York! We made a trek to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden where the Cherry Trees were in full bloom. It was amazing.

Cliff spent a week in DC on business. It was touch and go as to whether the trip would happen since the clients from Europe were affected by the volcano. While he was gone, it turned out two of my friends also had husbands away on business--so we made the best of it at Dinosaur BBQ. Yum, Yum. I am sort of secretly hoping to coordinate Cliff's future business trips with our friends husbands.

The first weekend in May we took a bus trip with the singles ward to Palmyra. The bus left the church at 1am Friday night. Cliff's favorite thing to say about the trip was: "if you need to charter a bus with no air conditioning and no shocks, we know where to tell you to find one." Regardless, the sacred grove was pristine, the Palmyra temple calm and sweet, and all the other sights fun to see. Hanging out with the ward was the highlight.

Last weekend we went to DC to be admitted to the Bar. At our swearing in people were making a big deal about this guy. We didn't know who he was until we asked a security guard who told us. (It is Dick Gephart.) He was there with his daughter who was getting sworn in. Recognize her? She's a celebrity in her own right--or as much of a celebrity as one can be for the notoriety of being a lesbian Democrat who came out (after 3 years of marriage) while here dad was running for president. She was there with her partner.

And DC worked out perfectly because we got to spend time with our friends the Brubakers, Scarboroughs, and Tates. Time passes, but few things change when you endured law school together. We also convinced our friend Lindsay and her fiance to have lunch with us.

April 24th marked our 6th!! anniversary of marriage. We got tickets to Jersey Boys and quite liked it. We have a friend who is a lead in the cast, and she showed us around back stage after the show.

Mothers day brought these roses and Isaac's first day of Nursery! I am not sure which was the better present :) Isaac is 18 months now! I can't believe it. He weights 28.3 pounds and is 34 and a half inches tall. He is a healthy and adventurous little guy. Both him and I are trying to get over colds at the moment, but I think he is more good natured about it than I am. Here are some parting picts of Isaac and some of his buddies at the Highline.

Weren't the cherry blossoms gorgeous? I'm a big fan of the botanic garden at cherry blossom time.
