Hope all had a wonderful new year celebration and a joyful holiday. We stayed here in New York this year and took advantage of the seasonal events here. We took strolls to the Rockefeller Christmas tree and the Christmas display at the Metropolitan museum of art. We enjoyed Christmas day dinner on Long Island with family. We would post pictures, but our digital camera no longer works. We have been using the old one that takes 35mm, but its hard to remember a time when taking pictures by this method was useful.
New Years eve we got together with friends and all 'carb loaded' starting at 7pm. By 10:30, we had all eaten so much pasta and been laughing so much we all felt a bit ill. Regardless, we all peeled ourselves from the comfortable couches and chairs and headed out for the midnight run (4 miles) around central park. It was a mild 40-ish degrees. Instead of a water station, they had champagne stations. We were told the champagne was alcohol free, but judging from the smell, we decided to forgo. It was also a costume contest/dance party/4 mile run. If we had a picture, you would see us with our noise makers and 2008 glasses while running.
We wish you all the very best in this promising new year.

Happy New Year to you, too! I've always wanted to try the "Beat the New Year" race but was always afraid I'd be too slow and wouldn't make it. Talk about disappointing. :) It's too bad you're camera isn't feeling better, I would have loved to seen pictures. :)
Ahhh... Did you make your famous Laura Bush hot chocolate? Best hot chocolate I ever had. Mmmm...
We miss you guys!
