January and February were predominately cold and snowy outside, so we found lots of ways to entertain ourselves indoors. Most of it safe and legal. (Pictured: Isaac moments after church let out--maybe we should have an FHE on reference :)Cliff and I came home from an evening out one Friday. It was late. We said thank you to the baby sitter, shut the door behind her, then literally collapsed on our beds and were sound asleep.... that was until Isaac came zipping out of his room at an unreasonably early hour.
Playing my pregnancy card, Cliff got up and put Isaac back to bed.
We fell back asleep, but apparently Isaac didn't. A little while later Cliff literally sprang out of bed and went running out the front door.

(Isaac on the FAO Schwarz piano of the movie "Big" fame).
From a dead sleep, Cliff heard the "click" of the front door shutting behind our little munchkin who was apparently making a break for it. Cliff caught up to him mid-way down the hall. Although the door is always locked from the outside, we apparently need to keep the chain across the inside of the door so the inmates can't break out.

Cliff went to a conference in TX and attended a BYU v. TCU basketball game. Yep, he saw Jimmer in the flesh.
Valentines day was pretty low-key. We made our traditional Fondu. Isaac is somewhat of a cheese fanatic but he has recently started to only eat and request "orange" cheese. Truthfully, i think orange is the only color he consistently correctly identifies, although he is mostly correct with others.

We made it to the New York Botanical Garden's "Thomas the Tank Engine" show. It was pretty ok, only slightly worth the really long trek to get there.Isaac helpi
I should also apologize--although this is a family friendly blog, there are a couple pictures of Isaac in his underwear. We have been potty training lately. It seemed like a good time to do it. The weather stinks and Isaac doesn't want to go outside, this baby is coming soon, and Isaac seems to be very motivated about... m&m's, his reward.
For FHE this week, we had a lesson on prayer. We looked at pictures of people praying in the nursery manuel, and one of Jesus praying with his mommy. Although it is so cheesy, I truly teared up when Isaac repeated after Cliff and said his first prayer. It seems he actually gets the concept of saying thank-you for things and asking for things. On tuesday night, he again said the prayer. This time, instead of repeating after daddy he thought of his own things to say thank you for; namely daddy, and "birth mark." I have a birth mark on my shoulder he is obsessed with. I guess the world of a 2 year old is simple and those are good things to be thankful for.
