The Snow

We have been pelted with snow this year. No one knows how to make a minor emergency a crisis like New Yorkers. The first snow storm on December 26th, Cliff's work gave us the biggest Christmas present yet by advising all employees to use caution and work from home where possible. Here are some pictures of Cliff working from home :)

Isaac was so excited to get out the sled we had to pry him off of it to get him and it out the door.

Outside, everything looked totally different and Isaac couldn't stop smiling! "Woo-wee" he would say "look-a snow!" This is a picture of Isaac and Cliff right outside the door. Note the big white mound behind both is a car.
We made our way through snow mountains over to the best sledding hill on the upper west side. Note that the snow piles were up to Cliff's elbow and the walkway between streets was only large enough for one way foot traffic. The mounds next to the store there are cars.

New York only plowed main streets such as Broadway, Amsterdam and Columbus, so all the cross streets were only passable by sled--as shown here by Cliff and Isaac.

We made it to the sledding hill and Isaac and Daddy decided to give it a try.

Isaac's first trip down was pretty good. He didn't want to go again but instead just wanted to hang out and watch the big kids putting on the real show.

That is, until we started home and daddy showed him how to pack the perfect show ball. How did mommy become the perfect target? At least I had the sled as a shield and came out just fine. Isaac thought throwing show balls was the best part.

Cliff did put in some "at home" hours the day after Christmas, but mostly he and Isaac and I "horsed" around :)
