For FHE last Monday night, our activity was giving birth to Isaac Clifford Blair. He provided the spiritual thought. This Monday night, as we celebrated his one week birthday, we noticed he was not his high spirited self. Cliff, my dearest sweet husband, had the presence of mind to insist we take his temperature, even after I continually said no since I don't like the idea of a rectal anything. We found he was running a very high fever, and our pediatrician said to take him to the emergency room immediately. Although there really has been 7 full days separating last Monday and this Monday, it has been a blur with no sleeping period exceeding 3 hours, bridged together by hospital trips.
The doctors keep running test to find out what is causing Isaac's illness. Cliff keeps praying for him, and I keep crying--not very useful, but as long as I do it while breastfeeding the time isn't misspent. The doctors are good and careful, and we are grateful that we don't live in the 1800s where sickness was fatal to newborns. The new estimate is that he will be released from the hospital Thursday late afternoon.

Our prayers are with you.
Our prayers are with you.
Oh goodness! I hope all is well! When Scott had to go back to the hospital that first week for jaundice, it was one of the most difficult experiences of my life! Hang in there! You're in our prayers as well.
Wow, what a difficult situation! I hope they are able to figure out what is going on quickly, or (better yet) that Isaac's fever starts going down on its own. It's so difficult with infants because they just can't communicate at all. At least he has the extra immune system boost from breastfeeding--you are giving him a wonderful gift.

Oh my goodness. That is so scary and so hard for a new mom. (those hormones!) We will keep you, Cliff, and baby Isaac in our prayers. We'll be anxiously awaiting an update.
Much love,

Oh my. How scary! You are in our thoughts and prayers and we sincerely hope that Isaac makes a quick recovery. Is there anything we can do for you?
Oh no! That is so scary! We'll pray for him.
Oh I'm sorry that you're going through this! We'll keep all of you in our prayers.
We will keep you in our prayers.
We will pray for Isaac and for you too..
OHh... my heart aches for you. It is so hard to ahve a sick baby and it must be SO hard because he is so little. WE will definately keep yo in our prayers. Mordern medicine is a miracle in and of itself, so that combined with prayer should do the trick.
